What exactly is The Done For You Writing & Publishing Company and what does it do?
We are a group of writers, editors and publishing experts. We specialize in helping
speakers, entrepreneurs and small business owners to write and publish books to promote their businesses.
How did it start doing this?
The beginnings of this company actually sprouted from my personal experience as a published author.
A few months after my first book was published, I was nominated for a
Best New Author award and attended a party with my fellow nominees. I enjoyed rubbing elbows with names I had only known before in print so the afternoon was thrilling for me. At one point, though, I got into an intense conversation with another well-published author who was complaining about the number and poor quality of self-published books in the marketplace.
"Just because you have a computer, that doesn't make you a writer," she said. She went on to point out that everyone may have a story, but that didn't mean it deserved to be published. I listened to her--I probably even nodded my head once or twice!--but for the rest of the evening and weeks afterward that conversation bothered me. I didn't know why until I finally realized that her comments went against and struck at the heart of what I hold to be a
deep personal belief: if a person wants to create, to bring something vital and new into the world, then they should be able to do it. They shouldn't have to hear the word, "No." I don't believe in closing doors to people.
Then I realized that the people who are told "No" the most are the ones who can
least afford it: speakers who are losing major speaking opportunities because they aren't published authors,
entrepreneurs who want to reach an audience of new customers who wouldn't hear about them otherwise and
small business owners who are trying to stand out in a crowded marketplace.
These people all want and DESERVE to be properly published and

Who are your clients exactly and what types of books do you work on?
We work with people
just like you who want to promote their products, programs and businesses in a published book. Those businesses are numerous and varied-from mortgage and real estate brokers to marketing consultants to attorneys, coaches and motivational speakers. That means we
only handle non-fiction book projects and we absolutely do not accept material considered vulgar or offensive.
How are you different from other publishing companies or book coaches?
I've found that in many other permutations of this business
there's always a piece that is missing for the client. There are publishing houses that solicit you, but if you don't have a book written there's nothing they can do to help you. There are coaches who teach about writing, but you're still left to your own devices to get the book written and if it's not in your nature to write, it can take you years to finish the project-and there's the chance you may never do it. There are also book content editors who coach you through the material and help you generate a written transcript of your ideas and content, but the process ends there.
No one helps you turn that material into an actual book manuscript and no one helps you publish it.

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?
All of our programs, including the
"Get Published Now" program, were created for people who are absolutely excited and totally committed to producing a book that will explode their business. These are
high-achieving, creative, success-oriented people who have a message they are determined to get out into the world and they are willing to invest what it takes to get their book done. The program was created to finish your book in as little as six months-not 2 or 3 or even 10 years, which can be the time it takes if you try to do this whole process on your own.
You will be expected to
take action consistently in terms of bringing your ideas and materials to the table for our editors to work with. This is not a process where you totally abdicate and not have input in the creation of your book. For the book to have your
authentic voice you must be prepared to discuss your materials fully and expertly. Don't worry, we'll help you with this!
You are also responsible for the factual accuracy of your material.
For what type of professional is this program NOT going to work?
We are very selective in who we work with and will turn away people who aren't suited for our programs.
Get Published Now is not for people who don't have their own processes or materials that they current teach, sell or promote. We don't create material out of thin air for a business you would like to start but know nothing about. You must bring your own expertise to the table.

Another type of person we feel is not right for our programs is the one who is indecisive and has no clear vision of what they want of their book or the publishing process. We find such a person often misses deadlines because they can't decide on required content or design elements and they often are not pleased with the final product because they themselves cannot provide the information that would produce what they want. Please understand we say this with the utmost respect and with the desire for you to get the outcome you desire. If it is more likely you will get that outcome elsewhere, it's best to know upfront so we do not waste your time or money.
What exactly is the "Get Published Now" program and what does it include?
Creating a book that has bestseller potential and will serve as a marketing magnet for your business begins with focusing your ideas into a process your audience will want and need. Here's what our program will do for you:
1. Get Clear On Your Message
We will examine your business and any materials you may have already created to ascertain the message you are communicating to your audience and whether it is indeed the one you intend to communicate. If it's not we will help you with clarifying and focusing on that message.
2. Target Your Audience and Solve a Problem
We will decide, if you have not already done so, who you wish to target with your book and what would be the best way to reach them. We'll also discuss what their biggest problem is and how it affects their lives.
3. How Do You Solve Their Problem? (Your Processes)
Here we will break out the exact steps you use to solve the problem your client or customer is struggling with. You may have done this before, but we find that while many businesses have processes, they've never written them down in a specific-step-by-step format.
4. Develop a Detailed Book Outline and Table of Contents
We will then use your step-by-step process to develop a detailed outline and table of contents for your book. This is also where we will make a list of anecdotes, either personal or those of your clients, to use in the book showing your experience in working with the issues being discussed. We will strategize on the calls to action to be placed throughout the book that will drive the reader to contact you or go to your website.
5. The Interview Process
Once we have the contents of your book thoroughly planned, one of our editors will then conduct a detailed interview with you, talking you through each point in the book. You will essentially be speaking all the things you would say if you were writing the book. Depending on the length of the book, expect this to take 2-3 days. The entire interview will be recorded.
6. The Transcription Process
The recordings will then be turned over to our team of transcribers who will prepare a written file of your interview.
7. Manuscript Creation (Rough Draft)
Our writer/editors will then take the transcription and use the text to create the manuscript of your book. Since the book is based on our interview with you, this ensures that the book has both the flavor and tone of your voice. You will then get to read this draft to ensure the content and flow of the book is what we're looking for.
8. Edit, Correct and Polish
The manuscript then undergoes a strenuous revision process, with your input, to incorporate missing material, make corrections and polish the overall style and readability of the book.
9. Publish
Your own personal project manager at Advantage Media will then take charge of your project for the actual production of your book. You and your project manager will oversee the details as your book is designed and printed.
10. Market
You will receive 500 copies of your book and given direction and ideas for the marketing of your book. You will be provided with resources and suggestions for promotion and the use of tools such as Google Alerts to tell everyone about your book.
We find that these are the steps that result in the best book possible for your business. You'll see, however, that most of the heavy lifting is done by our team and not by you! Our clients find it comforting to know that they can deliver their knowledge and move on to other important work in their business knowing that the book is still happening under the guidance of experts.

Most speakers, entrepreneurs and small business owners are able to sell 500 units fairly quickly and if you charge accordingly (you get to pick the price of your book) you can make back the investment by just selling the books. This, of course, does not include what you will make in new business, clients and opportunities. One of our clients noted that he can pay for this investment with just 3 new clients and he knows his book will bring many more than that!
How will we work together and what does the program entail?
If we decide your book project is right for us, then you choose your program and how you wish to work with your writer/editor. You can either have the writer/editor come to you in person for a two-day session of content development (you will prepare for the session with one or two phone sessions to discuss your materials). Or you can do everything over the phone.
How long is the program?
We always seek to produce your book in a 6-month time frame. However, this depends on your ability to produce and review needed materials for us in a timely manner. We will do everything we can to meet your scheduling expectations, but we've found in the past that it is often the client that takes us off schedule. So we ask that you be realistic about your ability to fully hold up your end in this process.
